Abduction and assault
On Friday morning, August 22nd, 2008, at approximately midnight, a 19 year old female was walking to her parked vehicle from a local business in the 100 block of Broadway Street East within the City of Yorkton, when a minivan drove up behind her. The female victim was then grabbed by an unknown male offender and dragged into this vehicle. The victim in this instance was forcefully held against her will at knife point, assaulted and then thrown out of the minivan. This is an isolated incident at this time and the matter remains under investigation. Police are seeking the public's assistance in this investigation and are encouraged to contact the Yorkton City Detachment with any information with regards to the description of the suspect vehicle involved in this incident. The suspect vehicle is described as: an older styled minivan, dark colored (navy, green or brown), very dirty with rust on the body, home applied tinting on the back window hatch and having no seats in the rear vehicle area.
